Auditions
The University Theatre Announces
Auditions for the KU Theatre for Young People’s production of:
RUMPELSTILTSKIN
- Written and Directed by Moses Goldberg
- October 27 – 28, 2007
- Murphy Hall
PERFORMANCES
- February 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (1:00 p.m.) February 13, 14, 15 (9:45 a.m.)
Rumpelstiltskin is a Participation Play for young audiences aged 4 - 8. Children in the audience sit on the floor surrounding the action, and, at carefully rehearsed times in the play, participate creatively in moving the plot forward. The actors need to be engaged by this age group and respectful of their creative abilities. Because the Company also creates all of its own sound effects and music, casting preference will go to actors who can sing a little and play musical instruments, although not all the actors cast will need to play expertly. One of the characters is mute and should be highly skilled at conveying ideas through movement.
