English Alternative Theatre

English Alternative Theatre was founded in 1989 by Paul Stephen Lim to nurture the work of student playwrights in the English Department at KU. In 1993, EAT began entering its productions
of student scripts in the various playwriting competitions of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Fifteen of these original scripts have been KCACTF regional winners, and five went on to win prizes nationally at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. An Army of One by Zacory Boatright is the first EAT co-production with KU's Department of Theatre & Film University Theatre.
