KUs Summer Greek
Theatre Program presents
The Eumenides
the third part of Aeschylus Oresteia
Director & Designer: Dennis Christilles
Lawrence audiences will get to see what theatre-goers in Greece enjoy when the 2004 production from the KU Summer Greek Theatre Program is restaged in the Inge Theatre. Performed this summer at the ancient theatre of Oiniades, Greece, The Eumenides is the third part of Aeschylus Oresteia. In The Eumenides, Orestes is relentlessly pursued by the Furies, the avenging spirits of the earth, and seeks sanctuary at the temple of Apollo at Delphi. The Furies confront Apollo, who tells them the case will be settled in Athens by Athena. The outcome of the trial changes the course of Justice in Greece and the world.
