Lobby Hero

by Kenneth Lonergan

  • Directed by Seok-Hun Choi

The titular hero is a down-on-his-luck graveyard shift security guard named Jeff. He is the proverbial screw-up in the constant process of getting his life together. His supervisor, William, hasn't much faith in the likeable Jeff, but has his own problems, namely a criminal investigation involving his own troubled brother. Enter two policemen, the ethically-challenged pro Bill and his up-and-coming rookie partner Dawn. In the lobby of this Manhattan apartment building, these four personalities come together in a situation where integrities and loyalties are strained. Everybody is just trying to do their job, maintain their humanity and "do the right thing," but those everyday tasks become increasingly mired in this comedy of morals, which mines the grey area between "Right" and "Wrong."
